Reading through Eugine's Alphabet of the Celts... "He got another year's football in but was stricken by the 'great white plague' (tuberculosis) and stayed in Scotland to await his death after his condition was diagnosed. he is buried in the Allan family grave in Linlithgow" Anyone near Linlithgow? |

https://blogs.glowscotland.org.uk/wl/sharingourlearning/2011/05/20/bridgend-football-team-win-the-george-allan-cup/ Bridgend Football Team WIN the George Allan Cup! Written by Miss Robinson A big well done to all the P6 and P7 pupils who played in the George Allan Cup Football Tournament on Sunday 15th May at Linlithgow Rose pitches. They all played fantastically! Not only did they win the cup, they also conceded NO GOALS and did the whole school proud with their professional sportsmanship. Indeed all of the parents, supporters and myself almost lost our voices cheering at the sides. It was a day enjoyed by all so well done footballers! |

Well kept large cemetery although never saw one person, lots of large Celtic Crosses throughout the graveyard, spent about a hour looking and hoping i would meet a worker, finally went to the town council and a helpful lady looked up the ledgers and eventually found what we were looking for ... Allan family grave Row A lair 273 ... back to the gravey in the hope the rows are clearly marked but no such luck ... me and the wife spent what seemed ages looking and luckily we found it before the rain pelted down. ![]() ![]() ![]()
