Think I've read this sad story elsewhere, but to keep it here.. Daniel's 12 year-old daughter Grace drowned in the Clyde, just behind Belvidere Hospital. Not sure of the exact date, but the article here (Evening Telegraph) is dated 14 February 1899. Poor thing. |

Notorious for accidental drownings at that bit of the Clyde, locals blamed it on dumped cars prams and bikes etc, not sure what they would have blamed it on in them days, probably just another dangerous part of the clyde, we played in it as kids even although we knew and had be warned about the danger. God rest the wee soul. |
