Here's the cover of the programme - there's a team list inside, but the team is incorrect as Jackie Millsopp was in the side, but he's not listed as a player: ![]() ![]() Some other images of the day - feel free to add these to the Wiki mate: The banner reads 'Will ye no come back again' - which was sung from the stands: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() A couple of pics featuring Big Jock: ![]() ![]() ![]() Edited by chuck, Aug 25 2011, 04:05 PM.

I always like this bit in the poem there: And who better to meet than McGrory's Bhoys The dashing Celts with the perfect poise Our friends through sorrow, our friends through joys And such will ever remain! Also interesting to note the mention of 'the old Celtic song' in the poem - this was ten years before Glen Daly recorded it, showing it was sung in Belfast. Edited by chuck, Aug 25 2011, 04:33 PM.

Not sure if that 4 leaf is confirmation it was the official logo in 1908 WS. Mind it was to commemorate the 4 trophies we won that the medal was made specially. Similarly when we won the 3 trophies it was known as the Shamrock success with pictures showing the 3 leaf. ![]() I'd love to see more official imagery come to light to close the gap in the first 40 years. This 3 leaf badge stamped on the back of a match ticket is conclusive proof to me that the 3 leaf was the feeshul badge in the 28/29 season. ![]() ![]() |
