OK in 1888, there was an O'Kane who played for celtic on several occasions eg http://www.thecelticwiki.com/page/1888-08-18%3A+Clyde+1-5+Celtic%2C+Friendly And then there was a Joseph O'Kane who played the 1910's Steve found on ancestry someone researching a relative called Joseph (O') Kane (born 1859). Noe he has several pictures and they say this guy and his son (born 1888) also Joseph O'Kane played for celtic ![]()

There's info on a Joseph O'Kane born 1896. Don't think that the picture matches up with anyone on their album cover though. http://www.rsssf.com/miscellaneous/unb-celtic-62.html
His Wiki page (and the only O'Kane in the wiki) : http://www.thecelticwiki.com/page/O%27Kane%2C+Joseph |

The problem with the 1888 O'Kane was there was a high turnover of players who played a handful of games for the club, so there is a real scarcity of info on them |

Only two J O'Kane's died in WW1. One with the Royal Scots, the other a Warwickshire regiment. If born in 1888, would have been 27 when he died. In Memory of Private J O'KANE 18340, 1st Bn., Royal Scots Fusiliers who died on 25 September 1915 Remembered with honour BEDFORD HOUSE CEMETERY http://www.cwgc.org/search/certificate.aspx?casualty=484649 |

summits not right, becuase the biog for our o'kane says "Centre forward Joe O'Kane was a bustling centre-forward who scored 13 goals in 20 appearances for the Bhoys. O'Kane joined the Hoops from Maryhill Juniors and made his Celtic debut in a 2-0 league win at Falkirk - helping himself to a debut goal. His powerful runs through the middle of the park made him a threat to any defence although in truth while at Parkhead he was mostly used as cover for Jimmy McColl. His talent was in demand though and although often loaned out to other clubs O'Kane still played his part in helping Celtic to the 1916 and 1917 league titles." But there is a joe o'kane listed on the WW1 page http://www.thecelticwiki.com/page/The+War+Years+-+In+Memoriam |
