Mary Walls father James died May 13th 1869 aged 38. D/cert shows wife as Roseann McBride. His parents are listed as James and Mary (nee McLaughlin) Walls. James Snr died 11 Dec 1870 with his parents listed as Edward and Mary (nee McDade) Walls. I dont think therefore there is any direct family link between Mary Walls and Thomas and Timothy Joseph Walls. Thomas however is listed at 89 Gallowgate for a long period of time with Mary associated to 88 Gallowgate in 1871 census Cheers |

Great info. My only thought would be that it'd be a hell of a co incidence if they were not related but lived beside each other with the same surname. Hmmmm

1911 Census - Timothy J Walls listed at Great Eastern Hotel aged 49 and as a Ships Steward. Bit of a mystery why he was living here but might explain the low key notice of death etc. More likely that Edward Walls was an uncle of Thomas Walls, making Mary a cousin of Thomas, not Tim, but still proving difficult to be conclusive on this. |
